Dennis Hastert: Iraq Is About Our Freedom

Memo from Karl Rove to Dennis Hastert: Dear Dennis, Nice line during the Iraq debate yesterday: "When our freedom is challenged, Americans do not cut and run." It has everything a great Republican talking point should have - No connection to the situation you're talking about, and a nice ironic twist thrown in. Nobody in their right mind would suggest Saddam was a threat to our freedom before the Iraq War, but by deflecting the argument that way, you've taken the spotlight off the many challenges to the freedom of Americans that this administration has done itself. Well done, and keep up the bullshit. Love, Karl.

How about having a President who's ignored 750 laws passed by Congress claiming they don't apply to him? There was a time when Congress was supposed to represent the People, but if the President can take their laws as mere suggestions we have lost our power to control him and are therefore no longer as free.

Bill, you miss Bush's committment to balancing the budget (or leaving more money for war). By by-passing Congress, it will soon become evident that Congress is no longer necessary. Why spend the billions/year all those senators and reps cost when Bush already knows the correct things to do, and does them?

The $300,000,000.+ per day we spend protecting America in Iraq could be increased, allowing us to kill even more non-jesus-loving scum bags.
