Cheney Hires Clinton's Old Lawyer
Here's another fun insider Washington twist: Dick Cheney has hired one of Clinton's Impeachment lawyers to defend the VP against the Valerie Plame suit. In case you've been out of touch that's the one where the VP's office took revenge for a Joe Wilson report disputing the run-up to the War in Iraq by going after Wilson's wife. Time to lawyer up for Cheney, and this should be interesting. Gee, I wonder how these family values, macho men of the Republican Party would act if Clinton had gone after one of their wives to get revenge? Kind of sleazy, isn't it? I mean the Mafia doesn't even go there, but Dick Cheney and company did. How manly of him! If you can't fight it out with the man, go after his wife. It's family values in the Bush White House.

If they "went after" Wilson's wife, why hasn't anyone been indicted for it? Merry Fitzmas.

Just finished watching another exciting episode of the born to slack show. a little late about the air show but i was there. i saw the plane, although i did not see it go down because i was checking out the chicks. the bad news is a plane went down with no survivors, the good news is the pilot was a lawyer. anyway, anyone with any intelligence knows who is really behind 9/11. Just watch fox news...yea right. those who believe fox news probably believe bush is a great president too.

Scooter Libby did not get indicted for outing Plame....he got indicted for perceived inconsistencies in his testimony to the prosecutors. BIG difference. To date, NO ONE has been indicted for outing Plame.
Quidproquo: I think you are confusing the criminal and civil court system. The Wilson/Plame lawsuit has nothing to do with "the wheels of justice", and everything to do with $$$$.

if the repubs have their way with this new official secrets act the whole bunch would go away. But a signing statement would cover that. You know perfectly good and well that the wording of the law re: revealing intelligence officers, is pretty easy to defend against, "um, I didn't know..." Granted that only exposes ineptness beyond belief, but we knew that already.

Yeah, I do know what they were trying to do. They were trying to defend themselves against Joe Wilson's lying hit piece in the New York Times. To this day, Britain, France, Russia, and the US still stand behind their intel assessment that Iraq was trying to purchase uranium in Niger. Wilson lied about this in the press to further his political agenda. Period.
Gee Butch, once again you totally miss the point.
Wilson didn't lie. He reported the facts as he saw them. So did France and the rest. The difference is they were wrong then, and proven wrong later. Wilson was on the scene, and told what he found.
The problem, dear Butch, is with the initial intellegence, cooked by Cheney and friends.
