THINGS YOU HAVE TO ADMIT DIDN'T HAPPEN

Lately we’ve been inundated by arguments that this is a Christian nation, founded on Christianity. Phrases in the Declaration of Independence and elsewhere that acknowledge a deity, are held up as proof. No one suggests that they might be there because the religious lobby was a force back in America’s early days too.
A while ago I posed this question: If we are a Christian nation based on that religion, why didn’t the founding fathers just come right out and say it?
Why didn’t the Constitution start with, “America is founded on Christianity and any disputes not settled in our Constitution shall be decided by the Bible”? I’ve yet to hear a good answer to that.
Now we have a president who believes he has unlimited powers in a time of war. If that interpretation of the Constitution is correct, it begs another question: Why didn’t the founding fathers just set up a dictatorship or a monarchy? Why did they fight and die to get away from King George of England in the first place?
