Presidential Profiling

I awoke this morning to the sounds of President Bush giving a press conference. I played my usual game: How long till he says something a little off? Three questions later he came up with the phrase "increasing more troops", but overall he was coherent. Apparently, nothing focuses this man like failure. He seemed energized by the gigantic mess he's made, and eager to make the mess worse.

There's clearly something psychological at work here. He's spent his life trying to talk himself out of bad situations of his own making, so maybe this has put him in a comfort zone. He finally has the conflict in Iraq on his own terms, which means it is all screwed up. He seemed defiant and almost happy as he sparred with the reporters about this fiasco. The war isn't wearing him down - he seemed invigorated and joyfully alive.

One of the reporters' questions was directly about this. It referenced the other day when President Bush sought to assure us that he was sleeping well as the mayhem in Iraq unfolds. It struck many as quite revealing - one of those slips that let you know who he really is. What does it say about a man when he's in the middle of the Iraq War - a conflict he caused - and yet he sleeps well at night?

One obvious answer is that he has sociopathic tendencies - an inability to feel the normal range of human emotions. Apparently someone in the White House noticed the problem with that sleep comment the other day, so the President was ready for the question this morning. The reporter discussed how devastated President Johnson was during our failure in Vietnam. You could see it wearing him down, and it helped him decide not to run again. The reporter asked how this President could appear so relaxed knowing people were dying because of him. President Bush went into an answer that seemed rehearsed to me. His voice didn't crack with emotion, like his father's would have. He said that it was the toughest part of his Presidency but that he had questioned himself about Iraq and realized he was right, so that was that.

At this point, I came up with another theory abut the Iraq War - one that I haven't heard expressed exactly like this anywhere else. Certainly others have mentioned that this President could be a sadist. He has the anecdotal behavior from his childhood - the cruelty to animals. His profound lack of curiosity in the world could stem from a realization that there's something missing in his own soul and he knows it. This lack of crucial feeling makes him mad - he realizes he's different, and though he rehearses answers about human emotions, every now and then the truth slips out.

We also know he gravitates to torture. When McCain wanted an anti-torture bill, President Bush fought it with everything he had - even threatening to veto it. After it was signed, President Bush made it clear that he would not follow it if he didn't want to - torture was clearly one practise he did not want to lose. Of course, he said all the right things - downright lies, actually - about how America does not torture, but there was a glimpse into his personality with that. This comment about sleeping well while others suffer and die because of his actions, was another.

So what's my theory? Okay, the reason the President seems so animated right now - the reason he is focused and alert - is that the Iraq War has given him something that his sadistic, sociopathic personality craved from the first time he was called mediocre, and teased for being who he is. The Iraq War is his adult version of torturing little animals. He has finally made it to the Super Bowl of Cruelty, and it's really working for him. The reason he's sleeping so well, and talking so energetically, is precisely because - in his twisted way - he is happy right now. Why? Because he's using the Iraq War to torture us all.

much too complex....bush takes actions because his god spoke to him. his god spoke to him.... his god spoke to him....nothing can be more self assuring to the listener. arrogance of the saved...

That doesn't explain W adequately, anon. Why does he believe his God is telling him to do things like torture, when the Bible clearly says, "Love thine enemies, and be good to those who hate you?" And why is he not anguished about deaths in Iraq, even if he believes they are divinely ordered? I think Bill's deduction of sociopath, and being comfortable in screw-ups, makes more sense than simple delusional psychosis or religious zealot.

And yes on your follow-up Bill... he has killed the cat..and is now swinging it around his head and throwing it at us...

Dare we think that the truth is a little more twisted than Bill has suggested?

He enjoys the fact that Iraq is such a mess not because it is the "Superbowl of Cruelty", but because it is such a mess & he's waiting to see how someone else will make it all right once again.

Consider the fact that every time in his life when he's gotten himself into a jam, someone has stepped in & fixed things for him: his Daddy, his Daddy's friends, the ben Ladens, & countless others.

If he's truly as bright as some folks claim he is (although amazingly incurious), it boggles my minds that he's screwed up as often as he has. Unless he has the mindset of a child & he constantly fails on purpose, as a twisted way of getting back at his (reported uncaring) parents.

Then again, maybe we shuold just stick with the "Superbowl of Cruelty" sadist analysis.

The issues between Bush and his Dad are all over this. You've given me a good reminder to post about the time I actually chatted with Bush about his Dad. Thanks.

Hey guys, don't fall for the latest media story that Bush Sr. is substantively more human than his son. Bush Jr. may be a total sociopathic nut, but his dad wasn't exactly Mother Teresa. Remember Iran Contra? How about the hostage crisis, in which many sources tell us he was coordinating with the hostage takers in Iran to keep them until after the Carter-Reagan election?

This family is screwed up, focused solely on consolidating and preserving their power. The reason why Bush Sr seems so much better than Jr is because Sr. was better at making fascism sound nice.

Remember that Bush Jr let 9/11 happen, or at least hid from the American people what he knew about the plot. Remember that Bush Sr. is implicated in the Bay of Pigs invasion as well as the assassination of JFK. These people are dangerous, bloodthirsty, coke-sniffing murderers, and they will destroy this country if we're not careful.

It's time we exposed the 9/11 Reichstag Fire for the false flag terror plot that it was, and bring to justice those individuals responsible, regardless of their power. Whether Democrat or Republican, media figure or poltician, these individuals must be exposed for their crimes against humanity. Only then will this phony "War on Terror" be brought to an end.

And then, God willing, our long national nightmare will be over.

That's a troubling take, Bill. I wish it were easier to discount.

At 5:42 PM, Blogger llywrch said...

Jeffrey, just because I think "Bush Sr. is substantively more human than his son" doesn't mean I think his dad was Mother Teresa -- or even a nice person. (Although I honestly think Bush Sr. wasn't consciously advocating fascism -- but that's a topic for another time.)

As an exercise, take your view of Bush Sr., as negative as it is, & try to imagine someone even less capable of human empathy. That would approximate what I suspect Bush Jr. is.

To repeat myself, "maybe we should just stick with the 'Superbowl of Cruelty' sadist analysis."

Bush was able to attack, torture and ultimately will kill the part of his personality he cannot stand the most-his sadistic side that is reflected in one of the most sadistic human beings on the planet-Saddam H. Bush cannot tolerate the rage and anger in himself and acted it out on the innocents of Iraq, yet it keeps coming out, thus the need to torture us by ignoring his generals, the Iraq study group, Repubican legislators etc. Good angle of this post to see how this is happening. What is next for GWB to torture? Iran? And what will George do to control his rage/anger when he sails off into the sunset? I feel sorry for Laura "pickles" Bush.

Let's get clinical. The behavior of the brainless skull and bones you are diagnosing, (like Bill Frist, feline sadist, diagnosed Shiavo), on video tape, is completely the miracle of animation (without articulation) from ingesting and injecting latter-day quarky combinations of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine, in today's neurotransmitter pills and nostrums. The voice you're hearing is medicated gonzo. Far out, man.

There is no ware there. He's not hauling thought. It's a no-brainer. It is hollow to expect there is anything like motive or intent or design or 'statregy' or, in brief, consciousness, behind the eyes, between the ears, from the neck up. All there is is sensation.

(Besides, you left out the psych work-up of the behavior matrix for the widely-known gossip in Washington, DC, winks, that Bush's mainline doses of psychoactive stimulation are gay sex fits. And with Blair, and Rove, and et al.)

So much analysis of human motivations propelling events we hear reports of, in terms of energy coming out of the W-boson, reminds the reader of Plato's cave with the surreal shadows on the wall, except those same shadows are now being said to have consciousness in them. They don't. Still, 2000 years later, still figments. They are dark profiles of rock. Shame-full silhouettes of sham.

'He' inhabits another world, with no consciousness in it. The columnists of 'his' calamities are like the cops looking at an autistic 15-year-old boy with a stick, and being unable to tell the difference between 'him'-zombie and a true human (themself) adolescent. And thinking 'he' is on their turf, and terms, they intend to kill him. You can't destroy Bush. 'He' is a shadow. You have to destroy what is in your real world that casts the shadow. We can't stop autism. We can stop its source.

However, all this pop psychology of calamity sure impresses the Democratic denizens of BlueOregon LINKed with it, stacking shadows to raise consciousness in them. Thickening the plot, so to speak, or plotting the thickening -- you can never tell with rockhead. If Bush was carved in Mt. Rushmore, it'd raise his IQ.

Maybe next, BlueOregon can LINK and channel Thomas Jefferson's situational analysis for today's politicians, he's the only Democrat up there. [ 'Sunrise, sunset. / Sunrise, sunset. / Swiftly flow the days. Now, they must learn from one another ...' ]

'Nevermind the Dog, Beware of Owner,' on a yardsign of a self-sufficiency bivouac in the ponderosa stands north of Sisters, perhaps offers advice we can use. Forget Junior G-man. Collar his Old Man. Psychologicize this!

He's a freaking Gemini. And his son is gay. Now THERE's a self consciousness brewing you can really waft a quaff of.

Let's get biblical. The Old Man old story goes: When he had a kid he took a government job, (shadowy thoughts told him it could make him a stable breadwinner), as a CIA recruit. And when he borrowed money from the Saudi royals to prop up his flatline oil business, in the early fifties, he was merely the agent for a sham cover story disguising that the CIA and USGovernment borrowed Saudi billions to finance Texas crude industry, and interstate highway building, and, don'tcha know, X-15 stuff, (read: jet airplanes). So the payback for the loan was Iran -- capture Iran and take the oil and give it to the Saudi royals. 1953. And the Old Man has been on that single case ever since. Still is. (Your president of 2000 and 2004 is one of the Old Man's hand shadow puppets ... ya' know, like you do?, arch your middle finger over your first one and move your thumb like a duck quacking. Don't psychologize the duck.)

The one story line commentary has in it and makes ordered sense of every 'war' thing that has happened, 1946 - 2006. (Duck shadow hit the big six-oh this year. Who knew?) That whole Vietnam thing now looks like 'opening a market' for selling the Old Man's (Company's) '50s-tech, early drilling platforms, since he had to capitalize them, and Vietnam had the only other shallow-water oil deposits in the world outside of the Texas Gulf.

So today the motive behind everything is, still, 50 years on: Run over Iran. Crock up a nine-eleven op kind of thing, and pile that mushroom cloud shadow on top of the duck shadow so it looks like he's wearing a turban and * a*la*ka*zam * go invade Afghanistan and Iraq: Iran's neighbors.

Repairing the last six years' damages is not going to get our democracy back. We probably need to rip up everything since the Old Man came nucuelarized out of WW II and named his son W, I. Thank heaven for WWW dot anything: With it we can erase passenger jet travel, freeways epidemic, and the five Services of militarism, (shoot you, sink you, shove you, spy down on you, and shit you). Tear it all down, the whole my, my, m-i Complex, done, and start over. What we do in each state is a group of civilians drafts a US Constitution proposal, coordinated with other states' groups; announce it embossed by a Constitutional Convention, and move it to passage by vote in three-quarters of the states ('s legislatures), and aya carumba! we are living in a new country, electing new Representatives, paying taxes to our self investments. Walk to the light and turn our backs on the shadows. Thomas Jefferson can instruct us in the procedure.

(Oh, and P.S., you left out the psycho part where his little sister went to the hospital one day, and died, and was buried, and nobody told Dubdub, since Babs and Poppy no-showed at the funeral to keep the shadow of death from touching the duck shadow. He probably still 'thinks' she's at the hospital.)

The one thing that leaves me a bit cold is that many believe -- at least online -- that the Bush Administration is all that is evil. I agree that Bush has been a disaster, but I sometimes we get the feeling that we are faulting him for failing, rather than trying.

We as Democrats have done a good and just job of pointing out what is wrong, but I have hardly heard word of what should have been done after 9.11. My concern is that we are too easy in our labeling Bush et. al. as "the others" and not stringent enough to suggest what we would have done -realistically - in this place.

Let's accept that the US is a geopolitical player and that our action (or inaction) has serious diplomatic, miltary and communitarian consquences.

OK, we would chose something different that Bush...great for the first 10 seconds of a conversation. Then what next? What do we believe and, which may be axiomatic, what would we do?

Iraq is not a disaster for Bush. Read the PNAC and Israel's plans for Iraq. They want civil war and anarchy . Then they can break Iraq up into smaller, more managable states. When Iraq didn't implode on it's own, Bush sent the Salvadoran option team, Negroponte and James Steele and, voila. Death squads, chaos and civil war. He has succeeded in what he WANTED to do, not what he said he wanted to do.

Having seen the DVD “Why We Fight” which tells the story, why our nation feels aggression is our right. Then as our thirst for petroleum products escalated in the mid 50’s with our discovery of oil in the Middle East, the stage was being set. Watch Syriana, the movie that George Clooney did about our initial Middle East involvement.

As an important aside, I grew up in Wyoming, where oil was the main resource, like Texas and Oklahoma. I did not realize at the time how noteworthy the following event would be: In 1956, when I was in 4th grade, our entire class along with many others, was called to a special assembly to watch home movies of an oil-man who had just come back from Saudi Arabia. In that assembly he showed pictures of his recent trip to the Middle East where his team of geologists had just discovered the largest deposits of oil to date. He then prophesized that “they” had found enough oil to last US-A (hyphenated “A” intended) for 100’s of years. But of course, that was pre-Hummer, Lincoln Navigator days.

Therefore, our nations thirst for oil along with our learned aggressive nature set the stage for our nation to blindly elect the most insipid man as president EVER, who was put before us, not once, but twice.

My point being, the Iraq fiasco should teach every one an important lesson. The person who we elect as our country’s main figurehead needs to change. Gone are the days in my belief, where we have just one individual acting (no pun intended) in that capacity; we need, for example, a group, of 20 to 100 intelligent individuals to be in charge. We need to abolish the two party system, that is so broken, and lead this country down a new progressive road to change, or who knows where we will be as a nation in 50 to 100 years from now.

Here is something about GWB and his family that I hear few people talking about, yet it fits this destructive path that Bush has put out nation on. Throughout the last 100 years or so, the Bush family has had 3 different generations in government. We all know about GWHB & GWB, but their real history lies in the grandfather of the clan, Prescott Bush. All 3 of these men also belonged to the Skull & Bones secret societie, who is in turn responsible for the direction of alot of the neo-nazi-conservatives. In general, these people are against our freedoms and liberties, plus they are extreme with their habits of destruction. They are masters of deception, and they have a majority of americans believing that Bush is insane, or stupid because of these irrational decisions that Bush has made. These decisions focus on the complete opposite of success, which include every decision that W. has made during his period of tyrrany. Hre is a brief introduction into who they are, and what their goals are :

I've stopped reading headlines, pundits and blogs -- other than to notice an interesting trope or a different turn of phrase.

The truly engaging material is in the comments sections. This stuff won't be found in letters to the editor or talkback MSM features because those are edited.

The "Bush is crazy" theme always sounds pretentious. Who isn't crazy these days?

Before Bush invaded Iraq, we marched, wrote letters, argued with family and friends, posted, vowed to elect, etc.

Bush didn't invade Iraq alone. Many people smart enough to know better went along with the scheme anyway. Now, despite the fact that the disaster-to-be has become the distater-that-is, we have just as much say as before: None.

In these comment columns, the tenor has changed from sullen dissent to bitter hostility. (Those who voted Bush seem just as complacent as ever.)

Yet the killing continues.

Bush's state of mind is irrelevent when he has millions of enablers. Get back to me when you're ready to physically stuff your own personal blackberry down the throat of anyone who tries to be judicious and fair when justifying the horrific carnage our country has inflicted upon Iraq and the Iraqi.

Merry fucking Christmas!

The mess and murder is systemic.

Whether you advocate for 'end war,' or health care, or jobs, or fair elections, or good education, or ANY of the THINGS that Oregon Democrats promise to focus on next month -- It. Don't. Do. SQUAT.

We, the people, need to be talking Colonial Revolution. And to be thinking in terms of 'democracy' vs. 'totalitarianism'. Or 'humankind' vs. 'corporatism'. Concepts ! Got any?

Today's bureaucratic patchwork 'system' is TOO broke, you can NOT 'fix' it.

We can write ourselves a new Consti2tion, a new government. Non-violently wipe away Washington, DC, as our Capitol city and every thing we call 'power' in it -- just by writing and signing a piece of paper our selves. All we have to do is organize it.

Citizens of __this__state___:
Meeting This Weekend Under The Oak Tree.
Our New Country Being Written. Please Attend. Please Help.

Just like Jefferson and Madison did. Ignore all the king's horses and all the king's men and EVERY one we have ever elected and do it outside of ALL government (paper) organization which exists now. Maybe we want 3 senators per state, instead of 2.

Completely RE-WRITE what unites the States of America.

US Constitution -- version 2.0, (beta release).

Then pass it into enactment -- OUR SELVES -- and start re-deeding property 'ownership' and rights, water 'ownership' and rights, air 'ownership' and rights. Imagine the surge of Popular Support that would come attend the meetings.

The 'established' class are going to scream saying we can't do that -- read the existing Constitution: Just watch us. Perfectly legal.

We elect a new Congress (if we want one). We elect a new President. The whole enchilada. Sorry if this detours your life path, (kick the habit of your imagined future), but if you don't you are going to die going over the REAL-life cliff ahead of us, enslaved.

We take a new census. We print new money. We pay taxes to our new Government.

Read the 8:17a.m. comment about 1776 colonists divided for-or-against keeping the old system, the 'King George status quo,' with Tories painting their chimneys white.

Yeah, re-writing a Consti2tion without using the Congresses and Establishments that there are, and have been existing, is radical.

It is also the waaaaay majority popular sentiment and Our Will. Many IN the existing 'power structure' -- such as judges and representatives and cops and soldiers and teachers and clerics and truck drivers and reporters and farmers and merchants and neighbors and ... we, the people -- are going to be joining to help us OUT.

It also is doing the right thing. Plus, you get to live and our children survive.

Earth is at stake, after only a hundred unconstitutional years of these World Oil Kings going hi-tech totalitarian on us people.

Bill M. hits it on the head, as do those who refer to "Bush on the Couch" and the also enlightening Kitty Kelley book, "The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty."
The corporate media has done wonders keeping this info from the public, but fact is, Bush is a classic bully/coward sociopath, well described by top-notch analyst Justin Frank. Kelley provides background: Absent, highly successful father; cold, punitive mother.
The "idiot son" ridiculed for years, failed at everything his father succeeded at. Alcoholic, coke addict. Tortured animals, and his sibs, mercilessly.
And when he had the chance to "rub Dad's nose in it" on Iraq, he jumped at the chance.
This is all about psychological revenge, and how absolutely awful that it has cost a trillion dollars, 200,000 (plus) deaths, and the hate of the entire world.
Our fault. We should have demanded the truth about this guy in 2000, before he could steal the White House.

And again he fails (occupying Iraq) at what his Dad succeeded at (avoiding chaos by destabilizing Iraq--and most of the Middle East).

Our fault. We should have demanded the truth about this guy in 2000, before he could steal the White House. Or taken to the streets to reclaim our democracy when the theft (Florida) became apparent.
