THE ECONOMY IN 2006
Here is my prediction on the economy this year, based on the “Mad Money” show, my trips to local stores, and my assessment of the Bush administration. We will continue to generate some impressive numbers through Election Day 2006, but these numbers will be achieved partly by cooking the national books, flooding the system with money, and running up huge deficits which will eventually throw America into a deep depression, perhaps ending our super-power status. This administration never really considers what’s good for America. It’s all about gaming the results and the thrill of putting one over on the people. That’s what makes Karl Rove tingle with joy. They talk about national security but they’ve increasingly put our future in the hands of the Chinese government. It’s interesting to note that President Bush’s approval numbers for his handling of the economy, hover in the 30s despite some seemingly good results. The pundits say this is because Iraq is clouding all issues, and that’s a factor. But could it be that the American people no longer believe what this government tells them about anything?
