EXPLAINING THE UNIVERSE

A recent astronomy study of so-called “dark energy” has the usual challenges to the way things are currently understood. That’s not surprising but I thought it was amazing that they said they measured gamma ray bursts from 12.8 billion light years away. How would those rays have gotten here in the strict Biblical view of a 6 to 10 thousand year old universe? You tell me. Of course, God could have put the finished beams of light in place, and had them depict events that never actually happened, but that seems convoluted. I’ve asked strict interpreters of the Bible and they had an answer based on space bending. Whatever gets you through the night. Still, 12.8 billion light years away? That’s a lot of space bending if you ask me. Conclusion: When you’re locked into a strict version of the Bible, you end up with a timeline problem that not even OJ’s lawyers could explain away.
