Seems to me that pretty much torpedoes the lefties whole "our country sucks" meme. We have - BY FAR - the greatest per capita GDP, are almost the lowest in infant mortality rate, and spend more than anyone on health care. Not bad for a hodgepodge melting pot of immigrants, no?

Um... Actually the U.S has the second highest infant mortality in the "modern" industrialized world.

Translation: When grouped among 33 other "rich" countries, such as France, Sweden, etc... we rank second to last. Not so impressive.

Oh Yeah... The whole we spend more than anyone on health care, also not so impressive. Spending more on health care does not equal receiving better health care. (see above: infant mortality) The United States spends 15% of its GDP on Health Care. Our fellow industrialized nations spend far less, yet manage to insure ALL of their citizens. It makes you wonder where all that money is going.
