The Internet As We Know It: Almost Over?

Today marks my 4-week point as a blogger and I now fully realize the value of the Internet: Private citizens writing away and interacting with others from their towns or around the world. I’ve posted on a site in Cairo, Egypt. I’ve put some of my posts on the Daily Kos - the king of all - a blog getting over 600,000 hits a day. My own hit total is around 2,500 and that is more than enough motivation for me to continue. The effects of blogging on the brain seem positive. I occasionally write something coherent in real time, rather than the endless fiddling I did as a columnist. In short, the Internet is good and valuable, which is why the powers that be want to change it forever as soon as possible. If people have the power to act as miniature media outlets, the corporate plan of buying everything from the government on down and using media as a public relations/propaganda machine will fail. So of course, they’re actively trying to end the Internet as we know it. Here’s the plan:
