Wife Weighs In On New Writing Pursuit

While I have no individualized shopping skills, I pride myself for trying to look out for the wife’s needs. That’s why I’m currently a little irked. She asked for Soy Crisps and for a second straight day I forgot to buy them at the store. They are hideous by the way - like Styrofoam coated with barbecue flavoring, but she loves them and that’s all that matters. Besides, who am I to make fun of Soy Crisps? My wife's the slender one and I'm always struggling with the pounds.
I went into semi-mock concern that it had to be diminished mental capacity on my part to allow such an egregious oversight. Maybe a slight stroke had occurred or even worse. I asked, “What could it mean?” She replied, “You’re preoccupied.” I wouldn’t let it go, “But what could be closer to my heart than your needs?” “Your blog,” she said.
Obviously some of us in this household are enjoying the blogging experience more than others.
