#5 Gonzaga in Squeaker, Hoops Home Streak at 35

Even Adam Morrison fans would have found a reason to pull for St. Mary’s tonight, as the visiting school lost by one at Gonzaga with a clock that didn’t start and a foul that didn’t happen. At least St. Mary’s deserved an overtime for holding Morrison – the nation’s leading scorer - to 9 points at around the 15 minute mark. Morrison did manage to go over 20 as he rallied the troops for a squeaker, but the win had drama and a little whiff of injustice. Still it’s a banner year in college hoops and Adam Morrison is a great part of it. The play that epitomized his rowdy long-haired demeanor occurred in the final seconds when he was talking to a teammate. He grabbed him and pushed him to go throw the ball inbounds. Morrison will play you tough on the court, or he’ll fight you out in the parking lot. This kid is as intense and serious as they come, with a shot from heaven and an attitude from a barroom brawl. He’s the guy who rides into town in the old West and everyone prays there isn't trouble.
